Choir  (Mr Annesley)

This year Gwynne Park students from years 3-6 have been given the chance to join our school choir, run by Mr A and Miss Daily. Our choir is built on the ideals of commitment, creativity, and community. Choir is always open to any student that wants to join, however as it runs on Tuesdays at lunchtime until 1:45, meaning only students passionate enough to give up a lunch time can/should join. To be a part of choir, consistency is key. This means if you leave, you are out. There is also a requirement of good standing and attendance, aiming to teach students responsibility and show them that commitment means effort; showing up every time, letting Mr A or Miss Daily know when unable to attend or practicing parts in their own time. These ideals have allowed us to fill out the choir with students that are truly passionate about music and has helped to raise the creative culture within our school.

Though this year’s choir has only just begun, our amazing students have been invited to take part in telethon on Sunday the 19th of October. We have been working with the ACMF to take part in a multi-school choir, which entails a performance done with 4 other schools and includes some truly remarkable year 6 soloists. In a very short amount of time our choir has made massive strides to ensure they know the words and sing confidently in beautiful harmony. They have even begun to incorporate instruments and acting to add to the overall performance.
